25th September 2015 Cliftonville Football Festival

Year 5/6 Football Festival

Trinity made the short journey to Cliftonville on a sunny Friday afternoon, which was in contrast to the rainy conditions of the week before! Yet, similarly to the previous week, Trinity got off to a slow start after losing the first game 2-1 to Cliftonville 1, despite Ralph Toller scoring a fine late goal. In fact, Trinity would have to wait for the 3rd game of the festival in order to secure their first victory as a result of losing 1-0 to Cliftonville 2 in game 2.

The wait for the first win was well worth it though, a much improved defensive display was capped off by a goal from Ralph Toller to complete a 1-0 win against Birchington. This proved to be the turning point in the afternoon - a hard fought 0-0 draw against Cliftoville 1 followed with James Karim as GK producing some excellent saves!

A narrow 1-0 defeat against Cliftonville 2 was unlucky on Trinity who had chances to draw level. However, Trinity showed bounce back ability by finishing the afternoon with another 1-0 win against Birchington courtesy of an Ivan Demeter goal. A special mention must go to Emily Costello Carter who was the only girl representing their school at the festival!

Well done Trinity - Remember team training on Thursday lunchtime 11.45pm-12.15pm!
