Yr 5/6 JC Cup Football
Trinity were back in action on Friday in the group stages of the JC Cup, held at Upton. On paper, Trinity had been drawn into the 'group of death' alongside the likes on Upton and Newington; both teams that historically achieve well in primary school football. However, Trinity weren't fazed and lined up against Salmestone in the first game full of confidence. A strong performance wasn't enough though as an early goal proved to be decisive as the score ended 0-1 to Salmestone.
Trinity showed good character though and bounced back by defeating Newington 2-0 with an excellent all round display. Another good performance against the host team Upton should have merited a win but a late goal was costly and the game ended 0-1. However, Trinity once again demonstrated bounce back ability by beating St Peters 2-1 and finally St Ethelberts 4-1 to finish a respectable 3rd in the group.
A very good team effort which was built upon hard work, energy and enthusiasm. Trinity have proved they are a football team to be proud of and should use the positive performances so far as a foundation to really push on now for the remainder of the season.
