South Foreland Lighthouse:
On the 5th October we had a fantastic trip to South Foreland Lighthouse in Dover. We did lots of activities and learnt lots about lighthouses.
Trip to the beach:
We had a trip to beach one morning and found lots of interesting things. We also drew on pebbles and hid them so we could try to find them next time we visited.
We have been exploring the story 'Orion and the Dark', predicting what might happen and thinking about how characters feel.
We have thought about the different words that we could use for scared and then order them on the stairs to show how Orion felt when he went up to bed.
We used drama to explore how Orion felt and what Dark might say when they met each other.
We have been practising how to partition 2-digit numbers.
We rolled a 10s and a 1s dice to make two 2-digit numbers. After this we used the more than and less than signs to compare the numbers.
In History we have learnt about a famous lighthouse keepers daughter and what she did. Please take a look at the link below to find out about this brave young lady.
We have been thinking about how we can tell when something is living, when something has never been alive and when something is no longer alive.
In Science we have been learning about healthy diets and made some scrumptious healthy sandwiches.
We have created some amazing images of what we think dark looks like. We drew on black paper with chalk, pastels and white pencils.
We have also been having lots of fun designing and building our very own lighthouses! Firstly we researched different lighthouses and what they looked like, then we wrote a plan thinking about what materials we could use before making it with the help of a work partner.
We have been learning about the different parables Jesus told and thinking about why he might have told them.
The Samaritan, The Lost Sheep, The Lost Son
