On Wednesday 26th April, we did a spring concert. The pupils were able to show their friends and parents what they had achieved throughout the year.
Our school choir joined with 15 other schools in the Festival of Song at the Winter Gardens. They all did a fantastic job!
Year 5 have been composing their own musical phrases, focusing on four beats and three beats in a bar.
Our school,together with local signers,took part in the national event Sign2sing 2017. This event is worldwide and is organised to raise awareness of those who are unable to hear. It is also an event to raise money, offering support to the deaf.
Year 2 have been busy learning to play the Ocarina, however we have also spent some time listening to sounds in the environment. We focused on the sounds created by the weather and listened to recordings of the rain, wind and thunder storms. The pupils then listened to the sound track from "Drip, drip. drop little April showers" to inspire them to compose there own weather soundtracks.
Year 1 are focusing on rhythm this term. They are doing well at keeping together with the beat!

Fun at the 02 in London, what a great day! The pupils had a three hour massed rehearsal with another 7,800 pupils. Then at 7pm, they were part of top class concert, where the parents cheered us on.
