Shaving cream is a great medium for practicing pre-writing patterns. Pre-writing patterns include waves, hills, circles and swirls.  Mastering pre-writing patterns is the precursor to developing great handwriting. These shapes form the foundation of our letters so children need to be able to do these patterns smoothly and effortlessly if they are to develop legible handwriting. It is messy but it cleans up easily with a towel! (It’s oh so soft to touch and smells lovely, too!)

Meet this week’s

Tidy Inspectors

(Week beginning 6 March 2017)

At the end of our nursery session we go around the room and check that everything is tidy and in its proper place. If it’s not, we have to choose some friends to come and sort out the mess! It’s a hard choice to make, because everyone wants to help the Tidy Inspector! Once everything is spick and span, we can tick off our check list.

Job done!
