Gifted and Talented RE Day 25.6.2015
A group of gifted and talented KS2 children journeyed to the Living Well (The Diocesan centre for Healing and Wholeness) at Nonington to spend the day exploring journeys. The day began with worship in Nonington Church thinking about how journeys can be planned or unplanned and focussing on the verses from Matthew about the narrow and wide paths and where they lead. Some time was spent in a circle of prayer.
After worship back at the Living Well we focussed on preparing for journeys; memories of journeys we had undertaken and religious journeys - pilgrimages. Then we moved to the garden labyrinth and in the peace and stillness walked the labyrinth in silence and quietly and creatively reflected on that experience. In the afternoon we each made finger labyrinths to take home. All the labyrinth work was facilitated by Barbara from Pilgrim Paths.
We then moved to our closing act of worship seated around a labyrinth in the Living Well chapel. Sarah, the chaplain, led this. During this time each of us walked the labyrinth and was prayed for. We also received scallop shells to remind us of our journey/pilgrimage today.
