On Tuesday 26th April, Badger class had a Tea Party linked to our Power of Reading book 'The Lonely Beast'. The children had to make their own cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches and grated cheddar and tomato sandwiches, cutting them into quarters. They also decorated cakes and created their own flower petal plate. Grown ups were invited in to share the food and find out more about the story. It was super! Thank you parents for coming to support our activity.
This Friday we celebrated World Book Day and everyone came to school dressed as a book character. Our lessons were linked to different stories and we had lots of fun. The Tin Man won our class prize for the best effort, Miss Setterfield came as Cinderella and Mrs Cygan and Mrs Long were a pair of Wally's!
We were very lucky today to invite Marks mum in to talk to us about Chinese New Year. We found out about why the Chinese think the colour red is lucky and that it is the year of the monkey. We were given some chopsticks and had to try and pick up grapes, it was very difficult! We had an extra special treat when Marks mum gave out some vegetable spring rolls she had made, they were delicious! What an exciting day, Thank you Mr and Mrs Spier.
