Reading records to be handed in daily, we expect you to be reading 4+ times a week. TTRS and MyOn can be completed at home, ask your teachers for you logins if you are not sure.

Term 1
Our Year 5 children have made a fantastic start to the school year and have settled quickly into their new routines and responsibilities. In Maths, we have been developing our understanding of place value, using clear headings and representations to support our learning, as well as applying the column method to solve addition and subtraction calculations accurately. In English, we have enjoyed exploring the wonderful book Flotsam, using it as inspiration to write imaginative poems and detailed descriptions. We have also been learning about the Alps in Geography, discovering where this impressive mountain range is located and exploring its physical features, climate and tourism. It has been a busy and successful start to the term, and we are proud of the enthusiasm and effort the children have shown in all areas of their learning.
