  • APPOINTMENT OF NEW HEADTEACHER

    Thu 01 Mar 2018

    19th February 2018

    Dear Parent/Carer,

Re: Appointment of New Headteacher, Mr Rob Garratt

    I hope all is well.
After a rigorous process of recruitment and selection in which a number of strong candidates were tested and interviewed over two days, I am delighted to take this opportunity to inform you that we have appointed a new Headteacher to succeed Mr Short following his retirement at the end of this academic year. Mr Garratt who is the current headteacher of a successful church school in Canterbury, was the unanimous choice of the governors and will commence his duties on the 1st September 2018. The panel which consisted of three governors, a senior local authority officer and a senior officer from the diocese were all very impressed by the skills and vision shown by Mr Garratt and have every confidence that he is the right person to lead our school forward in its successful journey.

Mr Garratt will be visiting the school during the summer term to work alongside Mr Short to ensure that there is a smooth transition of leadership. He is also very keen to meet and get to know our parents/carers, children and staff. We will keep you informed of any arrangements for this.

I would like to thank all the children and staff that were involved in the process. The children were, as always, a credit to the school, and to you, and the panel and the applicants that were involved in the process told me how impressed they were with the behaviour of the children and the part that they play in making our school such a wonderful place.

    With best wishes,

    Mrs Ann Smith
    Chair of Governors
