CHRISTMAS HAMPERS

This Christmas the staff have again been collecting gifts of toys, games, books as well as food items in order to bless those in our school community who have been severely affected by the virus in particular this year. For those who may have lost jobs, lost family members and who are seriously ill at this time. We wanted to thank God for all that he has provided for us and be able to share this love to those we know at this time that may not be feeling so positive.

We hope and pray that this may bring some JOY back into their lives as it gave us so much JOY in giving.

Thank you to Mrs turner, Mrs Farrall and Mrs Clarke for organising the gifts and distributing them.

We were delighted to know that we have been successful in a bid to provide meals for families this Christmas. £2000 was donated to the school to ensure that no child goes hungry this Christmas.

Thank you to Mrs O'Neill for her successful bidding and for organising the food vouchers.

CHRISTMAS 2020

It was such a shame that again we could not welcome parents and families into our school to see the most amazing winter wonderland that the teachers had created for the children this December.

However, no one was going to miss out on the most unbelievable performances.

So our year group performances were shared with our nearest and dearest using TEAMS. So our children felt like film stars as they were recorded performing their versions of the First Christmas and KS2 also shared with us different Christmas traditions from around the world.

Young Worship Leaders Advent worship

This is an example of the YWLs when they lead us in teaching about the 5 advent candles, what they each represent and what it means to us at Christmas time as we prepare for the birth of Jesus, which we celebrate on Christmas day.
How are you preparing for Christmas this year?

One of our Young Worship Leaders has written a prayer expressing what she is thankful for this Christmas time.

It reflects the fact that we have been learning about different countries and considering those in our town who are less fortunate than us too.

HARVEST 2020

This year we were not able to invite our parents and carers into school and we could not go to St John's church for our celebrations this year.

Instead we shared as a whole school all the beautiful art work that we created in our separate bubbles, we shared poems and prayers saying thank you to God for the HARVEST and for his great provision for us all.

YEAR ONE COLOURS OF HARVEST PRAYER

We were so amazed by the generosity from our school community as they donated to the Margate Independent Foodbank as part of our HARVEST CELEBRATION.

The group had to come and collect the BOUNTY in 2 car loads. They were so very grateful for all that was donated and wanted to say a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to you all.

Any families that may need help at any time can contact them: MARGATE INDEPENDENT FOODBANK CIC Union Row, Margate CT9 1PP or visit their website or Facebook page.

FACEBOOK worship

During Lockdown we were proud of our Facebook worship sessions that pupils at home were able to access and the key worker children joined in with in school.

We used well known Bible Stories as a basis for our worship, using the William and Lucy at home material from the diocese.
