Term 1 - Welcome back to P.E!

It's great to see everyone back at school and well done for remembering to turn up to school in P.E kit!  We now have Miss Rees as our P.E apprentice who is supporting all of our P.E lessons alongside Mr Hood.  In P.E lessons, we have been outside in the lovely weather doing some athletics and specifically been focusing on running, jumping and throwing activities.  Year 1 and year 2 children have been doing lots of obstacle courses and developing their agility, balance and coordination skills.  Year 3 and 4 children have been demonstating some fantastic hurdle jumping skills and the year 5 and 6's have been doing timed challenges to compete against themselves and also others!  We will contiune to develop these gross motor skills in term 1.  Keep up the good work!  Please see below for action photos!

Term 3

'Get Fit with Mr Hood’

This lockdown I’m here to help you all keep fit and energised by doing a weekly fitness challenge! I will be posting a video that you can find in your home learning every week. The challenges can all be completed at home and all you need is someone at home to do the timing and count your score. Email your year group email address with your best result from that week and I will put together a league table to score house points and to see who are the fitness champions. So you can practice as many time as possible throughout the week and then email in your best score! You can even challenge other members of your family at home!

Week 1 - Star Jump Challenge
Week 2 - 'Socks in a box'

Term 6

Year 2 Rapid Fire Cricket Tournament

The year 2 Rapid Fire Cricket team kicked off the first tournament of 2021 with a BANG, held at St Georges Primary  School on Wednesday 16th June.  The Year 2 team have been learning the game of Rapid Fire Cricket throughout term 5 and were lucky enough to showcase all their skills and knowledge of the game in a tournament, with 5 different schools competing. Despite the weather our team powered on to gain as many runs as they possibly could. The first game of the tournament we played against St Josephs, where we both drew 51 runs, the second game we played St Georges B, which we also drew with, gaining 75 runs.  The team showed lots of confidence and belief in all the games, demonstrating some excellent team working skills along the way.  Well done to everyone involved

Year 5 Kwik Cricket competition

Well done to the year 5 Kwik cricket team who participated in the Thanet primary school mixed Kwik cricket competition on Tuesday, held at Margate cricket club.  There was lots of excitement in the build-up to this rearranged event as thankfully the weather was sunny and dry this time!  The competition started with a challenging game against the eventual winners Upton.  The team responded well after this and bounced back to beat St Josephs by 11 runs!  In the final group match, there were more catches and wickets and the game finished with a narrow loss to Holy Trinity Ramsgate.  The event finished with a final game against Palm Bay in which more excellent bowling and batting was on show!  Well done to everyone involved!
