Homework
Please try to read with your child at least 4 times a week. Reading is the backbone of learning and extremely important to your child's development.
Your child will be bringing home one of our beautiful new Guided Reading books twice a week. Please share these with them and return the next day. We will also be providing the children with a reading book to share; this is their choice and maybe too difficult or easy for them. It is to foster a love of reading and can be shared at home. Those children who are on the Accelerated Reader Program will also be bringing home a banded book for them to read and can be brought back to be changed whenever they finish it.
Our Projects this year
This year we will be learning about a variety of exciting topics. Here is our overview of what projects we will be doing and the books we may be using.
Times Tables
By the end of year 2 you child needs to be fluent in the 2's 5's and 10 times tables. There are loads of online resources to support you in furthering your child's confidence in these, but bellow is a link to some recommended games.
