Term Two

Our topic for this term is ' Mighty Metals' it is all about forces and magnets. We have had some fun so far making spinners and parachutes. We have looked at how friction has an impact on the spinners and how gravity acts upon parachutes. We made both of these objects out of everyday materials.

Here are images of the simple spinners and the parachutes if you would like to try and make these at home!

Sparrow Class Remembers

The Tin Forest by Helen Ward and Wayne Anderson

Our book for this term is The Tin Forest. We are really enjoying reading this book and thinking all about how the man in the book feels. He lives in wide, windswept place that is full of rubbish. We have painted our own images of what a jungle would look like and thought about our hopes and wishes for the future. We can't wait to find out what happens next.

Term 3

Our new book for next term is The Green Ship.

Our project for Term 3 is - Tribal Tales.

This project is all about The Stone Age, it is a history based project.

We enjoyed learning all about The Stone Age. We learnt about the three different time periods and created our very own Bronze Age monuments. We learnt about how Stone Age people lived and how their tools developed over time.

Moon Juice- A poem collection

We have been reading a variety of poems this term and this will continue into next term. We have enjoyed learning about rhyme and  the class favourite poem was Hamster Man!

The Ice Palace

Our new book is The Ice Palace, we can't wait to find out what happens in this story.
