During term 4 we will be completing lots of exciting activities. In Maths we will be focusing on fractions - using our times tables will really help us here. Our Power Of Reading book for this term is The Promise. We are finishing our Beautiful Botanicals project- with the real focus being all around art and DT.

Kew Gardens

We are finishing our term with a really exciting trip to Kew Gardens on 23rd March. Please ask the office/Year 3 team for any more details regarding the day.

Beautiful Botanicals

During our topic of Beautiful Botanicals, we have learnt how to use clay, create a wash, sketching from different angles and creating a junk model of a rainforest. We are going to be putting all of our work together - and then we will be showcasing this at our Look and Learn on 27th March 2:45.

RE

In RE, we are currently looking at Salvation, and why Good Friday is an important day for Christians. We are thinking about everything that happens at Easter and where this fits into The Big Story.

Term 5

Maths

In Term 5 we will be continuing to focus on Fractions, then moving onto money and telling the time. It would be a good idea to start telling the time with your children at home. This will increase their confidence when we come to do it in class. Children will also still be expected to complete Times Tables Rockstars at home.

Power of Reading

Our book for Term 5 will be ' The King Who banned the dark' It is all about a boy who was scared of the dark so he tries to ban it. We will be focussing on writing newspaper reports, this is an area of writing we haven't experienced yet.

RE

During Term 5 we will be focussing on Pentecost and what impact Jesus leaving earth had for those left behind. This follows on from our Easter topic in Term 4.

Project

We will be starting our new topic this term, all about the Ancient Egyptians. We are excited to learn all about their life, and why they are an important part of history.

Term 5 update

During Term 5 we have been really busy. We have completed lots more work on fractions, focusing on fractions of quantities. We have been trying really hard to tighten our presentation ready for Year 4.

Our book for this term is ' The King who banned the dark' we have looked into news and why this is important. We have written our own newspaper reports based around the King's decision to ban the dark.

During Project lessons, we have been learning all about the Ancient Egyptians. We have learnt how they trade items and why the river Nile is important.

Join us on Friday 19th May at 2:30 for our class assembly to find out more!
