Welcome to Year 3! We are looking forward to an exciting year of learning.

Reminders

Please send children in with a named water bottle each day. This can be refilled at school throughout the day.

A snack is no longer provided for children in Key Stage 2 so a healthy snack of fruit or a cereal bar can be brought in for break time.

Full school uniform must be worn daily, which should be named. The uniform list is on the school website.

PE day is a Monday and full PE kit is to be worn.

Reading records are to be handed in daily. Children should be reading at least four times a week.

Term 1

This term we have looked at the story 'The King who Banned the Dark' in English, writing a diary entry and a narrative. We have used different techniques to create 3D sculptures in Art.

Term 2

We have explored the text type poetry this term and had the opportunity to perform a poem to the class. We also wrote a descriptive poem describing the rainforest. We also enjoyed our Anglo-Saxon Living History workshop.

Term 3

We participated in Antarctica day at the start of term and have continued our learning, finding out about the landscape, wildlife and research work happening there. We have enjoyed our book, 'Pugs of the Frozen North' and researching pugs to enable us to write a fact file about them.
